We are currently looking for dynamic individual to join our Technology Practice as a Business Analyst in a Product control team.
As a Business Analyst in the Product Control team, you will be instrumental in safeguarding financial integrity. Your role will encompass the detailed reporting and reconciliation of daily profit and loss, participating in the month-end close, and ensuring compliance with all financial policies.
You’ll collaborate closely with both onshore and offshore teams, building strong relationships across Front Office, Market Risk, and Financial Control to enhance our control environment and identify opportunities for process improvement.
The role:
Produce T+1 P&L to Front Office and obtaining daily P&L sign-off, including substantiation through comparison to trader predicts, current risk and market moves.
Work with the Technical team and document processes at a detailed level
Perform the analytical review of the desk P&L and explain the business drivers of the P&L movement.
Reconciling and reporting EOD Risk and obtaining daily risk sign-off.
Reconciling and owning inputs to the Value-at-Risk (VaR) calculations of the firm.
Ensure that the team is in compliance with the P&L and Risk minimum standards and support projects to enhance the control environment.
Provide reports driven by Front Office, Market Risk and Business Management.
Month end – Liaising with Financial control to reconcile P&L Aggregator to general ledger
Review the key control metrics and monitor the current control issues ensuring they are effectively escalated and mitigated.
Key Skills and Experience:
To succeed in this role you will need:
5-7years experience in a Business Analyst role in Investment bank or similar Financial services organisation
Good financial product knowledge, preferably fixed income products.
Strong numerate background – experienced in Data analysis/manipulation
Experience working in a Product control team/function
Control focused / mindset with an attention to detail
Proven experience in Jira/Confluence
Ability to work effectively to meet challenging deadlines and be able to work under pressure
Ability to identify and solve problem.
Team player with ability in managing daily processes and interacting with the business
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Understanding of data management frameworks and AGILE ways of working.
Technical knowledge around technology and tools used in support of data visualization preferred SQL, T-SQL, Excel
