Job Title: Workspace Windows Build Engineer
Location: 100% Remote (India)
Contract Type: B2B (6 months initially)
Duration: 6 months, with potential for extension
Main Purpose of the Role:
The primary responsibility of the Windows Desktop and Office 365 Engineer is to design, build, deploy, and maintain secure, optimized, and standardized Windows desktop environments and Office 365 client applications. The role ensures reliable and efficient desktop computing resources and Office 365 tools, driving business productivity and ensuring compliance with corporate IT policies. This position combines BAU and project work, offering exposure to fast-paced environments and the latest technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Windows Desktop Engineering:
Design, build, and maintain standardized Windows desktop images (using Ivanti Endpoint Manager, MDT, or Intune).
Implement/manage group policies (GPOs) to ensure security and configuration standards.
Automate tasks using PowerShell scripting.
Troubleshoot complex Windows desktop performance, security, and functionality issues.
Collaborate with the security team to enforce security compliance.
2. Office 365 Engineering:
Design, deploy, and manage Office 365 applications on Windows desktop environments.
Standardize installation/configuration of Office 365 across the organization.
Optimize performance and troubleshoot compatibility issues.
Implement and manage Office 365 security measures (DLP, encryption, secure authentication).
3. Support and Maintenance:
Provide 3rd-level support for Windows desktops and Office 365.
Monitor performance and document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Collaborate with IT teams to maintain seamless operations.
Provide guidance to less experienced team members.
4. Project Management:
Lead and participate in IT infrastructure projects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver projects.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and implement improvements.
Ensure alignment with Project Life Cycle Management processes.
Skills and Experience:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Experience:
3-5 years in Windows desktop engineering/support.
2-3 years in Office 365 administration and deployment.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Windows 10/11 OS and Office 365 services.
Experience with deployment tools like Ivanti Endpoint Manager, SCCM, MDT, Intune.
Strong PowerShell scripting skills.
Knowledge of Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, DHCP.
Familiarity with Office 365 security features and compliance requirements.
Certifications:
Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-100, MS-101, MD-100, MD-101) are desirable.
