Role Overview:
We are seeking a Linux Engineer with a strong background in Red Hat and Solaris to join our team. You will be a key player in maintaining and enhancing our infrastructure, with a focus on system internals, kernel tuning, automation, and security. Our team, consisting of highly skilled professionals in the UK, is dedicated to ensuring our systems are robust, secure, and efficient.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that all project/investment related workloads are delivered according to plans and defined budgets
Take part in the team rota including on-call and weekend working
Identify savings across project & BAU activities to be implemented through automation involving a process flow of Service Now -> AWX -> Ansible / scripting
Deliver against team BAU responsibilities
Essential Skills and Experience:
In-depth knowledge of Red Hat and Solaris, including system internals and kernel tuning.
Experience with Red Hat Satellite, Ansible, and AWX.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and Bash.
Experience with REST API integration and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong understanding of DevOps practices and tools like Git.
Excellent knowledge of networking, storage, database, and virtualization layers.
Familiarity with clustering, high-availability technologies, replication, and disaster recovery.
Strong background in security and auditing, with a focus on data security governance and compliance.
